Privacy Policy – Weatherpilot

1. Purpose of the app

Weatherpilot helps you plan bike trips using weather forecasts.

2. What data is processed?

• No account or personal profile: No sign-up, no tracking, no ads, no analytics.
• Input in the app: Places and dates you enter are used solely to request the forecast.
• Technical data: Device and iOS version may affect app behavior (e.g., bug fixing) but are not transmitted to me.

3. External service (weather API)

The app uses the API by Open-Meteo. For this purpose, coordinates/place information and date ranges are sent to Open-Meteo. To the best of my knowledge, Open-Meteo does not store personal data related to these requests. See Open-Meteo’s privacy information for details.

4. Storage & retention

Your last plan is stored locally on your device so you can resume later. You can reset it in the app at any time or remove the app to delete local data.

5. Legal basis

Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract / steps at your request) and, for purely local processing, on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing a functional app).

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise your rights, please email christoph.gassl@icloud.com.

7. Children

The app is not directed at children and does not request sensitive information.

8. Changes

This policy may be updated if features or legal requirements change. The current version will always be available on this page.
